Relatedly: A friend of mine has a true story about some donkeys stealing from her car… they were out west, driving through some desert or some such (Utah, maybe?). This random donkey stops in the middle of the road in front of them, and then (as their windows were down), two other donkeys reached into their car and stole their snacks off the dashboard and then all 3 donkeys absconded with their stolen loot!

Maybe it was in Oatman. They’re well known for their feral donkeys looking for food from passing cars.

I’ve seen video of snow monkeys in Nagano Japan doing the same thing.
Their smallest member sits in the middle of the road. When the car stops, the older ones come in from the side and reach into open windows.

Tore up in there like an elephant at a vending machine. 
I do feel bad for the child in the vehicle and glad no one was hurt.
