I was at a donkey sanctuary, and bought a bag of donkey snack at the ticket window, and as soon as the person passed it out to me a donkey in the distance started SCREAMING without pause until I hustled over there and fed him. They are very in touch with their needs.
(Also: for a country that loudly despises displaced and homeless humans, Britain is curiously riddled with donkey samctuaries).
