No, nevermind. He nailed it.
I love ABK, but this was fairly weak as far as representing “all American 1950s Sci-Fi movies” – it pretty much 100% parodied Forbidden Planet and no other movie.
I think his take on haunted house movies hit harder, personally.
Yup, this.
As well, Forbidden Planet was basically The Tempest in Space and is regarded as one of the most iconic SF films of the time, partly for its music score featuring lots of Theremin.
It was more than “lots of theremin”. It was the first wholly electronic film score

Not only is this better, but Insalubrious is a GREAT name for a horror film.
I particularly enjoy the attention to detail he put into his late-80’s-style theme song and opening titles.
