An informed, content, and healthy clientele clicks less, and makes Facebook less money, so Facebook goes with the malfeasant strategy, which does generate more revenue— up until their clientele dies.

“We share Avaaz’s goal of limiting misinformation, but their findings don’t reflect the steps we’ve taken to keep it from spreading on our services,” is Facebook’s response to the report today.

Well, whatever it takes to prevent Zuck from actually having to face the consequences of what he’s created. I guess they’re moving from “Apologize, then do nothing” to “Ignore reality when it makes us look bad”.
