No, not creepy or strange at all… or mostly WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG?
Every story about FB just makes me more happy I never signed up there.

Would blowing up in someone’s face still constitute a clear photo of it?
most people on facebook likely have uploaded numerous photos of themselves and their family and friends, many have also happily tagged the faces of all the people in every shot. typically your face isn’t a secret. so for most facebook users this isn’t a concern personally because they’ve already done this numerous times.
the concern is for people who fall outside of main use case and don’t show their faces for personal, religious, or safety reasons. this kind of shit needs to always be “opt in” imho.
Set up a photobooth somewhere, for that retro experience while ripping their faces off.
Sure, they’ll delete the image. Now the data about the image, that allows them to identify your face, that’s another matter entirely…
what’s great is that if you don’t upload one facebook can just find one and then put it there for you.
The immigration regulations that Korea put in place when his co-workers turned him in would not have caught him.
I’d love to see the push back that Facebook endures.
Think I’ll retrieve a few G.O.A.T.S.E images while I’m at it. Rumor has it that a russian (.ru) site mirrors the defunct goatse.cx site.
The idea of Matt Zuckerburg getting G.O.A.T.S.E.-bombed has undeniable appeal.
Or just get an easily found pic and hit it with the warp brush.
I was wondering about this.
On the one hand, I don’t want to give them a picture.
On the other hand, they already have almost all the current pics of me anyways.
/I’ve never posted one or anything publicly on FB.
//My wife and friends, however…
A “clear photo”? Do I look like a Scientologist?
As a link in that article makes clear, Facebook already asks you for your nude pictures so that its human employees can look at them.
Admittedly, the reason is about as above-board as it gets. (It’s to prevent the spread of “revenge porn” images from people who’ve already been victimized.) But still. A company that can get its users to send them nudie pics ain’t gonna scruple at asking for your face.
They already do this as a security question. I don’t have a FB account, but my girlfriend does. Our friends have started tagging me as her in photos. Which makes the question a bit harder. I’m happy to add a little salt to their system.
Most platforms that use Facebook for authentication also allow passwords. I find Keepass to be an excellent alternative to Facebook.
And if you think it might be impossible to ditch Facebook sometime in the near future, than it is imperative to ditch it now. You shouldn’t want the intertubes to rely on any one company.
I’d like to like that but it is far too disturbing.
