I wonder how long young Dave spent perfecting that signature because that is some top shelf “I’ve been a rock star my whole life” stuff right there. When I was 14 my name was an afterthought.

I find myself wondering just how many fan letters Mackaye kept, and how he organized them, so he could find this one decades later.
