Too soon for him. His work was a lens into the dark, messy, outré wastes of intelligent human culture. I loved browsing through his Amok Bookstore in Echo Park. It was always an unalloyed journey over the edge.

Oh. This is sad and awful. I did not know him but certainly admired him, and Feral.

He also published a bunch of books by Mel Gordon on the history of Weimar Berlin. Voluptuous Panic is especially good. Gives you an insight had to just how mad the culture at that time became.

It turns out Mel Gordon died a few months ago as well.
Bummer. Got quite a few good books from him over the years thanks to Amok.
