I started reading FILM CRIT HULK’s reviews recently, with his series of essays on the James Bond movies (which are excellent).
HULK has just posted the following article:
… and damn, is it poignant.
It talks about how just the accusation of a crime can destroy a person’s life, and about the social factors that are keeping the US from adopting a more rehabilitative approach like the Scandinavian countries have.
I definitely recommend reading the article. The fact that HULK WRITES ENTIRELY IN THIRD PERSON ALL-CAPS is a bit annoying at first, but once you get past that, I find his reviews absolutely spot-on and incredibly insightful.
If anyone’s interested, I’ll post the links to the James Bond reviews in the comments.
