“Big if true.” I’m a little sceptical about the last sentence where they predict lower prices, but the rest sounds promising.

Finland among hottest in Europe
Finland is currently basking in some of Europe’s warmest temperatures, as reported by commercial broadcaster MTV.

While southern and eastern Europe boast similarly warm or even hotter conditions, cooler air masses dominate in the west.

MTV Meteorologist Aleksi Jokela explains that the reason behind Finland’s exceptionally warm May is a high-pressure area formed over northern and eastern Europe and Russia. Continuous cold air flows into Siberia through the high-pressure area, but the high pressure system transports warm heat masses from southern Europe to Finland via eastern Europe.

On Wednesday, some parts of Finland are expected to hit the 30-degree mark.

Too cool for a sauna too hot for anything else.

Cannot be a wet bulb temp, which is unsurvivable at just 95o F. But we are talking Death Valley temps, which is called Death Valley for, well, reasons. And having a water shortage at the same time is a recipe for mass casualties. What a fucking disaster!

Excellent item for the arguments about economic viability of renewables, not that it will matter to the assholes arguing against.

. The researchers find that, in the US, wind and solar have health and climate benefits of over $100 for every Megawatt-hour produced, for a total of a quarter-trillion dollars in just the last four years. This dwarfs the cost of the electricity they generate and the total of the subsidies they received.

Excellent ROI. If only this would be a factor in the equation for the assholes in DC.
