Well, see, Trump only used to be a rich man who lived north of Richmond. Now he’s a rich man who lives south of Fort Pierce, Florida. So obviously not one of those out-of-touch elites the song is eviscerating.

Yeah, but it’s the line “people like me, people like you” that’s really the key… and then look at the audience. The dude who wrote the song seems to have disavowed the MAGA folks, but the people who made it a hit don’t seem to know that or care.
