No one should be subjected to that. Not even people who have done things as vile as this guy did.

Getting really solid evidence of rape can be hard. Often there’s nothing but one person’s word against another’s, and that’s always a difficult situation. Any justice system administered by humans will have flaws; we as a society have decided that it’s better to err on the side of leniency–“presumed innocent until proven guilty”–and I think that’s the best system overall, even if it sometimes lets guilty people go free.
