Err umm. Actually, there have been actual reporters who’ve been abducted by ISIS report that this supposedly “standard line of thinking” is true and correct. By clamping down on freedoms and marginalizing the Muslim population potential recruits are created.

Agreed, and it doesn’t help that our corporatist foreign policies create, aid and abet recruiters in the first place.
