Only, we (humans) have hardly been listening at all. The ATA is not complete and cannot perform its listening mission to the degree it was designed to and all of the other efforts have been limited listening efforts. You have to keep in mind the chances of just happening to catch a radio signal/laser beam/whatever other method of choice is used and the unlikely confluence of “just the right geometry”.
