There is a myth in Ireland that Pelé got his name from Irish missionary priests who remarked on his football skills, but Pelé has denied this origin fable. The name is similar to the Irish word for football but they aren’t pronounced the same.

It reminds me of the Bhutanese film “The Cup” which tells the story of a group of Tibetan monks exiled in India and their struggle to get a TV to watch the finals of the FIFA World Cup in 1998.
One of the Young monks even has a handmade Brazil’s jersey.
