I think eventually the courts are more likely to find that opening a Bitcoin is like owning a stock – even though it’s different, the courts won’t bother to make a fine distinction. Someone paid for something .

I suspect what is likely to happen is that either the whole thing will fade away quietly or the legal agreements will get tightened up massively so that there is actually something to enforce.

This is a very senior judge flat out repeating crypto-bro flannel about how Blockchain is going to revolutionise everything and make disputes impossible and get rid of most court cases, etc.

This stuff has been claimed for crypto since Blockchain became a thing and there is no far no evidence that it will ever happen or that anyone has any real interest in it happening.

And yet we still have a senior judge claiming it is just around the corner…
