Plus internal reasons, which researchers are still trying to figure out:
Even when it comes to everyday coughs and colds, women have the advantage. “If you look across all the different types of infections, women have a more robust immune response,” adds Sandberg. “If there’s a really bad infection, they survive better. If it’s about the duration of the infection, women will respond faster.” One explanation for this is hormones. Higher levels of oestrogen and progesterone could be protecting women in some way, not only by making our immune systems stronger, but also more flexible. This may help maintain a healthy pregnancy. A woman’s immune system is more active in the second half of her menstrual cycle, when she’s able to conceive.
no, i know – it’s clear she didn’t want him to. but everyone else (family? friends? i don’t speak the language) could’ve stopped him. it’s scary to watch.
In all seriousness, I hate these stunts. My wife’s co-worker got punched in the face by a girl egged on by a friend who was fiming a teen fight club in a park in front of third graders.
And then this also happened.
My wife’s co-worker was in a park with two other mothers and their third-grade kids. She saw a group of teens fighting each other. She went down there to tell them to stop, and she threatened to call the police. They were confrontational. She said, “Fine I’m calling the police.” While on the phone to the police, a girl came up and started swearing in front the kids. The other mothers protested saying she shouldn’t talk like that. The girl then hit the co-worker in the ear. The co-worker grabs the girls wrist, and which point she screams, breaks free and her and the teens run away. The other mother metions she saw another teen video taping with a cell phone urging the girl to punch the co-worker.
You’d also need a safe and some serious MMA skills to think that (i) the parachute would still be under your desk when the time came, and (ii) you’d make it to the ledge without a fight.
I’ve only noticed them in the US but surely they are used elsewhere. BTW not always a Maltese Cross sticker sometimes just a simple ‘dot’ or an image of a fireman’s ax.
