German warship blasts Star Wars' Imperial March on Thames

I think at one point there was a civil war as some moffs started fighting for control of the Empire, while other moffs saw the way things were going and joined the rebels/New Republic.

Then Disney threw out the extended universe, so who knows what happened after Endor?

… I wonder what would have happened if the July Plot had succeeded at killing Hitler

In the first movie we hear the emperor dismisses the senate, and it’s questioned how he can maintain control without the bureaucracy. The answer is that his men will have direct control and fear of the death star will keep the local systems in line. So having the guy who builds those and they all report to die, it makes sense the whole thing would unravel pretty quickly.

Force Awakens unfortunately decided not to tell us anything about what happened, though, to the point that when the somehow-no-longer-defeated villains destroyed some planets it was purely up to us to guess whether they were important or not. :frowning:

That corvette is half the size of an RN frigate. The newest German frigates are going to be huge. HMS Belfast is about 10,000 tons and it’s a WW2 era light cruiser!

But a ship’s class is what you call it, since the Washington Naval Treaty rules were abandoned in the 1930s.

Still, it’s nice to see a NATO ally paying a visit.

Will they be targeting Scratchwood Services too then? Not sure their guns are up to the task…:

Didn’t you hear the music? They’ve got a Death Star.

Flags too, I’ll bet.

I assume that you make do with what you’ve got; but it seems a little awkward to use what’s definitely absurdly-capital ship music(as definitively established by the scene where it plays while a mere standard star destroyer slips into the shadow of the Executor) when you are on a corvette. Under 100m long; less than 2,000 tonnes displacement.

Speaking of which, the last of her kind:

… Vader’s look was mostly based on Samurai armor:

Lukas “borrowed” The Hidden Fortress plotline, so being “inspired” by Samurai armor seemed the logical step.

Less awkward than Vance and the donut shop.

I suppose you could stuff the peas into the penne tubes…
