Oh! Yes. Both are correct, but hard ‘g’ is right.

The creator of GIFs (with a hard G) waited 20 years to tell everybody that he spelled it incorrectly and it should be JIF (with a dubious J) even though its G for Ger Ger Graphics. He’s clearly high.
