It makes for a good zinger, but really, Musk’s wealth is only tangentially based on his family’s fortunes.
He got started by doing a crummy dot-com with his brother, that got bought for millions because it was dot-com boom. Then he started another, the ill-famed X, where he managed a merger with his competitor PayPal, and was ousted as the CEO after just a few months because he was so thoroughly shit at it. But he kept his shares, and got even more millions when eBay bought out PayPal. Then he “invested” in Tesla, and rode its success, and massive overvaluation of Tesla stock, to where he is now.
Really, Musk is the platonic ideal of a mediocre-to-useless white guy who keeps on failing upwards because he’s a mediocre white guy, and lucky to boot.

the family connection really helps in a vc world which is, in reality, tiny, and overwhelming white.
one could probably do a social graph of who’s who that knows his family. but even if no one did, the air of wealth ( hmmm… heir of wealth in this case ) is a huge leg up for getting access to vc cash.

Also I don’t see how this law would square with official sanctions - would corporations not only be able to, but have to, say “Sorry, but we can’t stop trading with Iran/Russia/ISIS. Oh, and thanks by the way, because now we can’t stop doing business with them even if it stops being profitable because that might get labelled an illegal 'political boycott.”

That last bit, where he blames all these companies for the eventual death of Xitter, and seems to think “the Earth” will judge them for it. . . .
The perfect example that he lives in a bubble surrounded by the voices of his weirdo sycophant lickspittles. Outside of that sphere nobody on the planet will blame those corporations, everyone will blame him, and those companies will still be around when Xitter is a memory.
