Google demonetizes content which "exploits, dismisses, or condones the war" in Ukraine

How very mysterious. Care to elaborate or are we just gonna leave it at that?

I’d recently followed someone on tumblr before the war* began. Once the war* had begun, this person started reblogging all my Ukraine posts. They added the same comment on each, something along the lines of, “NATO started this!” in all caps, and used really obnoxious tags.

I didn’t even look at their blog before unfollowing & blocking them. I didn’t care at all about what must have been appealing to me re: their blog, enough that I’d followed them.

*Yes, Virginie, there is a war in Ukraine.

It’s as if they’re reading from a script they got ahead of time, written in anticipation of a completely different war, where one side would be NATO and rational observers might be legitimately confused about who started it

but that’s not what happened, and now they’ve got nothing to work with
