That sounds like he might be able to appeal based upon insufficient counsel.

And can certainly sue his ex attorney.

Pretty much came here to say that his teeth look AI-generated - perhaps not in the “there are far too many of them” sense, but definitely in the “this looks weirdly and uncannily fake” sense.

That first one is a high bar. You have to show that it’s likely you would have prevailed but for the ineffective counsel. If your case was weak to begin with, that’s all but impossible.

The second one, though, that’s doable.

Unfortunately you usually can’t appeal a conviction if you actually paid for the lawyer and there wasn’t any kind of chicanery with the evidence.

But you can sue them for malpractice.

At least as far back as the 1990s some portrait studios have offered “dental correction” as an optional retouching service for people who are self-conscious about braces or crooked/discolored/missing teeth. The results are not always great.
