I knew of him but never listened to his music until just now for that video, and i typically dislike the typical country sound so i had avoided listening to him. I am liking what i’m hearing though, i am more of a fan of folksy/bluesy country and his sound is very much in that vein. I’ll have to add him to my Pandora station

He needs to get David Lynch to direct his videos. Definitely can hear Roy Orbison and Chris Isaak in his music.

This segment from his Queen of the Rodeo video 100% has that feel. And it’s a music video IN a music video! And yes, the worklight bit is a BIT on the nose for a Lynch pastiche.
