GM SCENE
Aronn gives no response to your closing comments; to all appearances, he fell fast asleep the second he closed his eyes.
After continuing downriver at a brisk pace throughout the day, the Sayidat Alzzurqa’ pulls in to shore in the early evening. As you disembark, you see that you are in what appears to be a small trading post and traveller’s rest stop, where a northbound highway meets the river. A large inn is the main attraction, from which Aronn hires a carriage (with a two-horse team) plus five extra riding horses.
As you organise to go, he hands over an aged and fragile piece of parchment, bearing a faded but still clear image:
He believes this to be a painting of the fortress site done immediately prior to construction (roughly five hundred years ago). His research has led him to believe that the site is around half a day’s travel northwest from this inn.
Aronn settles inside the carriage, directs Ranar to take the driver’s seat, and points the way northwards.
[PLAYER CUE: what’s your general order of march? Who’s doing what where?]
