As a gay, it always strikes me as very convenient when (straight, male) ar-tists who like to film/photograph/paint naked people always end up doing so with only naked women.
I mean, yeah, it would be fun to hang out with hot naked models as your job, but why all the pretense?
Not that the gay male artist scene is much better, but at least Mapplethorpe occasionally photographed nude women. Many of the fancy-photogs known for their nudes seem to be so exclusively focused on one sex that you wonder if they’re actually afraid to have a same-sex person naked in their presence, otherwise, why wouldn’t you?
