Happy Mutants food and drink topic (Part 1)

Yes! 2 of my favorite subjects.
So I put it to all y’all, rename this conversation?
Or, should I just leave well enough alone?

Personally, I like this as is, and maybe consider updating when it bleeds over into part 2? We’re not far from the 5k post limit, after all.

here’s dinner tonight–

vinegar and dill marinated baby cucumbers, slow-smoked baby back ribs, and baked beans. it’s been a long afternoon and evening but the results are worth it!

Very nice! I wished I still lived in the land of abundant fresh fruit.

I think I’m a little north of you (North Alabama).

My backyard citrus does well enough in containers here in USDA Zone 7b. One of these days I’ll try to plant locally appropriate fruit — strawberries, a muscadine vine, maybe a couple peach trees…

Yeah just a bit north. I grew up in SoCal, in a neighborhood full of every fruit tree imaginable. It warped my perception of normal.

I’ve got a lot of herbs growing, and nut trees. But the fruits haven’t taken well down here.

If I hadn’t been in a public place I would have licked the plate really clean.

oh, my! that looks mighty fine, to be sure!
I personally prefer seafood to chicken in curry, tofu otherwise. it’s the sauce what makes it, tho, amirite?!

Found a service which delivers domestic Japanese style beef at reasonable prices. This was half of a $100 yakiniku plate. The whole thing is 2-3 meals for me and the missus. (Yes that is tongue on the top)
