I think I figured out the skunk. Normally last night would have been the night before garbage pickup, when some gentlemen put out their garbage the night before as a banquet for the critters. Because of Christmas, our pickup was bumped to tomorrow morning.
With the mild temperature, all the raccoons, foxes, skunks and coyotes were out expecting a feast, but there was nothing there. No wonder it was pissed!
