Every time I think of what the world did to him after all he did for it, I have this dense little kernel of fury at his abhorrent mistreatment and our inestimable loss because of small-minded bigoted shit-heads who weren’t fit to share his moment in history let alone judge him and torture him. And then there’s Churchill, who knew full well what Turing had done to save the world even if he didn’t understand it, but couldn’t be arsed to lift a finger to save him after he saved all of us.
That said, I appreciate the hopefulness Packham included along with his condemnation of the betrayal of Turing.
