Isn’t it highly unusual for a convention to kickstart the funds they need to operate? Isn’t that what the proceeds from ticket sales are for?

In all seriousness, I suspect that much of the problem that they’re having with fundraising is due to DashCon. Tumblr is full of LGBT fans and creators, but once bitten, twice shy.
