Here’s how to make your own Butterbeer

Seems like a butter-dulce de leche sorbet, with soft meringue on top.

Could be good, but looks a little hard to drink.

i’d prefer to try this actual recipe from 1594 for it:

The very name is revulsion itself.

I clicked out of wondering what butterbeer might be but did not click through when I saw it was about harry potter.

Especially since beer is itself magic. Wonderful, subtle magic, where grains and hops change into a delicious, mildly intoxicating beverage. Its magic in Sumer was what formed the first cities. Civilisation is the result of beer. Wine came later, but it too is magic, the potion of science and philosophy.

I suspect JKR is a teetotaller who didn’t grasp the magic of these two drinks. Or the amazing superiority of coffee.

Martin Luther is quoted as saying, “Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy.”

That was the best thing I’ve seen in awhile.

That looks really good to me.

I think Universal kinda nailed what I always thought it should taste like. Not that everyone (or even most adults) would like it, since it is awfully sweet. But if I ran a soda fountain in Hogsmeade, Universal’s butterbeer is what I’d sell. Mostly so I could drink it myself.

There are plenty of places you sophisticates can find real beer and wine at. Drink up, me hearties. Yo ho.
