It’s gonna be one of those “never pay policies”, isn’t it.

The ‘gods of synchronicity’ are powerful. I changed insurers ~2 weeks ago. Just getting with my then current insurer and reviewing their list of discounts and informing them of my intent to shop alternatives, I magically gained a promise of a 50% discount. After requesting that a hardcopy quote be mailed to me, I contacted a couple of other (important, here) reputable insurers on my pending quote; they did a bit better and for the same policy. All quite easy.

Insurance is weird in that it is just hard enough that it doesn’t seem amenable to automation. There should be at least a few companies competing to automate my insurance shopping, getting me quotes regularly and automagically parsing them.

Insurance is a “gadget”? Does it come with a dongle?

Boingboing shilling for thieves now? Come on guys, get back to to being a “directtory of mostly wonderful things”
