Seriously, what are you waiting for? Bust footloose!
For those in states where there are a lot of confusing ballot propositions and people you’ve never heard of running for judiciary or school board and other local positions, https://bluevoterguide.org is a helpful site.*
[* If you’re voting for the fascist duopoly party or a Useful Idiot third party like the Greens, find your own guide; or better yet, don’t vote at all.]
I live within walking distance of my county election commission so I dropped it off there directly to minimize any chance of ballot fuckery from would-be arsonists and whatnot.
I dropped mine off in the box in front of town hall a week and a half ago and already confirmed that my ballot had been Accepted (Submitted to be Counted). Your secretary of state’s website might have a similar “track your ballot” section like Massachusetts does so you check and make sure your ballot wasn’t affected by ballot fuckery.
I also turned mine in directly (just yesterday ) so I could make sure I didn’t spoil my ballot with my writing utensil choice (I did not), and to try and score one of the sweet “I Voted” werewolf stickers (again, I did not ). But I verified online that my ballot was received this morning, and that’s the important thing!
I think my county is too red to have any terrorists burning ballot drop boxes, but you never know.
Same, I just figured it didn’t hurt to remove all the variables I possibly could.
Yeah, living in Massachusetts I don’t have to worry about election fuckery too much. However since I live in the eastern part of the state, and the Boston TV channels cover southern New Hampshire as well, I will be happy when the election is over and I don’t have to see New Hampshire governor’s race ads every ten minutes. [I wish I was exaggerating.]
Similar situation here in Southern California. In particular, if I never see an ad with the names Michelle Steel (the MAGAt incumbent) or Derek Tran (the Dem challenger) again in my life it will be too soon. The amount of money both have wasted on TV ads seen mostly by people who can’t vote in the District 45 race must be astounding.
I’m intrigued, and search doesn’t help.
It’s a Michigan thing, with a heavy helping of cuteness.
Yep, that’s the one! I might have to do early voting instead of absentee for the next few elections until I manage to snag one.
Didn’t you know that he’s against crime?
(I mean, why anyone running for office has to actually claim this in a commercial…I’m so over the 2020s.)
My neighborhood library is a county early voting center. We all went and voted last Thursday. Not taking any chances with my vote.
In Texas, there’s one of those per county.
Which means Loving County (pop. 64) has the same number of ballot drop-boxes as Harris County (pop. 4.7 million).
No telling what new fuckery the Politboro will enact next session.
In Texas, you can’t just ‘vote by mail’… you have to have a valid excuse.
The early voting locations are nowhere near to where I live, but the usual voting location is within walking distance.
In the dozen years I’ve been using that location, it has never been crowded; I’ve usually been the only voter in there at the time.
It will be interesting to see if that changes this time around.
Dropping mine off today.
