They won’t! That’s why it is the final Phantasm movie. If I am not mistaken, it was all shot by 2014, and Angus Scrimm died only this year.

Mostly in post-production. They’ve also been doing a 4k restoration of the first movie with hopes of having them both ready to show this fall. That - and the fact that that fall is usually The Time for showing horror movies.

I finally saw that a year or two ago, after thinking about the trailer for 30 years.
Loved it. A lot of fun, although sad to see the cookie-guy get stuffified.
