House agrees to fund September 11th Victims Compensation Fund until 2090, one day after Jon Stewart's emotional plea

Well, I was tempted by “cultural marxism” and “Soviet mollycoddling,” but “socialism” will do just fine.

Run, Jon, run!

Fine, then please don’t make assumptions about my political views based on a discussion of one thing.

I assumed nothing. I have no idea why you’re inferring that my participation in this discussion and expressing my views as a response to what you posted is in any way an interpretation of your political views. You’re reading into things that aren’t there.

Maybe because your comment to me came off as a bit hostile? it can be hard to infer meaning in reading a comment, so if I misjudged, I apologize.

My point was that supporting people who put their lives on the line to save others, in the line of duty, deserve to have their health care covered as a response. Given that their health problems came from a terrorist attack on the US, it should be a no-brainer for the entire congress. That most certainly doesn’t preclude what should be a no-brainer regarding universal healthcare - but that’s a harder sell to congress than this should be. That’s my entire point.

As another Canadian, I have to agree, and as goes you, so go we, so will you get a move on and fall faster?

What sort of human is against this? They did their jobs for the public good (you know, socialism), and now we’re unwilling to take care of them?!

Ffs, that’s a shitty example of sarcasm. Try harder next time or add the /s tag TO THE POST.

Thank you!

Can’t wait to see what the full House and McConnell’s Senate do.
Of course, what would help would be support from POTUS. Then again, it’s not like Donnie has or ever had the smallest generous bone in body, so why should he start now?
