The house rocks from the wake of passing commercial traffic on the river. You get used to it. When we first moved in, every time the house would start rocking, our two cats would freak out and hide. Since they were cats, after a couple of weeks, when the house started rocking, they would open their eyes for a moment and then go back to sleep. Eventually they didn’t even wake up.
People don’t weigh enough to noticably change the level of the house. If we add something heavy enough to change the level, we add additional flotation to compensate. The house is normally still. If we’re measuring something while the house is rocking, we wait a minute until it stops, if it’s a problem.
