How Darth Vader's amazing final scene in Rogue One happened

I am watching it. I’m two episodes behind!

Oh, I´ve seen it. Rebels is amazing. The show took untill the second season to find its groove, but now its one of the best animations on TV (along with the fantastic new season of Samurai Jack). I´m so happy what they have done with Thrawn there.

Agreed. Great concise case against stormtrooper incompetence found here. They can be accurate when they want to…

(Even a technologically advanced force will have difficulty against Ewoks who outnumber them, know the local terrain, despise the empire, are bloodthirsty killers who eat their prisoners, and have their religious zealotry emboldened by their deity’s manifestation!)

Do they not have Civilization in the Star Wars universe? Everyone who’s played that has seen a spearman take out a tank.

The director’s cameo was pulling the final switch… Finally a real excuse to bring up Babylon 5 in a Star Wars thread and nobody went there?

That scene in B5 still brings tears to my eyes.

He says the film needed “one more shot of Vader being badass”, but this scene is the only shot of Vader that isn’t absolutely awful and in desperate need of excising from the film…?

It’s also not clear that all the human-appearing characters are the same species, is it? Their aging processes might well differ and not be the same as human beings’, especially taking into account the potential life-extending properties of the Force.

I read about that too. IIRC it was during or shortly after the Korean conflict, and it led to major revisions in basic training that incorporated brainwash-esque techniques (as seen in Full Metal Jacket.)

Considering how much I hated using Vader as Action Badass and not letting him simply be the Dreadful Presence No One Wants To Be Near. I’m going to go with this.
