If they wanted to track you they’d just use your phone. I’m going to put the image on a t-shirt and sell them.

It is a very common misconception that a Faraday cage needs to be grounded. Metallic foil works very well; wrapping it in aluminum foil would be perfect. Materials like chicken wire work less well; wavelengths short enough can escape through the gaps.

Several experiments with foil wrapped RFID tags prove otherwise. It can attenuate the signal, but enough gets through for them to still work at close range.
