How does a $40 Yeti bucket stand up against a $2 hardware store version?

I tried that once and the people who lived downstairs got really mad at me.

Oh, it does the same thing for half the cost?

Is there a particular use case where spending orders of magnitude more for a marginally “better” thing makes sense? Sure. Of course there is.

Is there a MUCH larger demographic who will buy the thing when marketted to because they want people to think the use case applies to them? Hoo boy, is there ever.

Does that contribute directly to resource depletion, the great pacific garbage patch, air pollution, and climate change? Well, d’uh.

Or just want to believe it themselves. (This has never applied to me.)

That would be an indefensible extra-territorial application of the law. I’d expect that from Trump, not from the EU

I’d pay for internet porn before I’d pay for a spackle bucket

I’ve ranted to a friend about the suckers who by over-priced Yeti stuff. He gets me one of their bottle openers for Festivus. I wonder how much he paid for the stamped metal. It works, but so should any class 2 lever.
