How editing can ruin a movie

I just watched Derelict - an amazing feat. Utterly compelling. Ok so the original movies both were, but the juxtaposition of the two stories, and especially of certain scenes, was … well, as I said: compelling.

Thanks for the recommendation.

The talent has a vision and sometimes wants to make art. The studio is paying them to make more money for the studio. If the studio thinks the art is not sufficiently commercial, it will certainly not let the talent have a free reign.

This my fav from them. They explain the plot from 11 min 10 secs to 12 min, 10 sec.

Not sure who did the editing on Return, but I’m pretty sure that It was Lucas’ wife that did the edits for the first two.

Have you read the script William Gibson wrote for Alien 3? It’s been adapted into a graphic novel and a radio series. An interesting look at what might have been.

(edit, I’ve just found out there were 2 different drafts, I think I’ve only read the second)
