How not to write sex scenes

I think the problem with most poorly written sex scenes is that they focus on the mechanics of the sex. That’s not the interesting part. Much more interesting are the emotional and psychological elements. The sexual mechanics can serve as the drivers of the scenes, but the really streaky stuff comes from the more subtle elements.
