More evidence the UK is becoming a third world country. India does this yet in UK if you earn more than about £7-8k a year your kids are ineligible for free school meals.

Watching cooking on an industrial scale (which this qualifies for!) is always fascinating.

Same with the US, more or less.

That’s excellent use of gravity-fed production. I was looking at it from a food handling safety perspective and they are right on top of things.

Largely true here in India too. This is all for kids in public schools or government aided schools, which is typically the poorer segment of society. Almost anyone who can afford it will send their kids to private schools. While some of those have meals included in the fees, most don’t.

Not to say that this isn’t a successful programme. It’s led to massive increases in school attendance, and in nutritional gains for kids.
