Then what the fuck are you complaining about?
It’s a non-issue - poor people can just sell their underwater houses to feed their kids, sheesh!
Want to see him confused and disoriented? Point out that the school lunch program started as a program suggested by the U.S. Army.
When the draft was cranked up for World War II, the Army discovered that a very large percentage of draftees were being rejected because they were under-nourished. The federally assisted meal program was established as “a measure of national security, to safeguard the health and well-being of the Nation’s children and to encourage the domestic consumption of nutritious agricultural commodities.”
In a shocking new development, Ben Shapiro says something ignorant, idiotic and inhumane. We’ll be back with more on this breaking story at 11.
Par for the course from the pipsqueak kapo.
I also was wondering why he said this? Do you you think he means that it doesn’t cost very much so we should pay for all three meals for all kids?
That’s it. Go to your room without any supper.
It’s not a significant financial burden for impoverished people. It’s only a significant financial burden for rich assholes who are supposed to pay taxes.
I am so confused
National security and corporate welfare. What more could a conservative ask for?
Can the shape shifting lizard aliens finally take over?
Also undernourished children mean desperate children and desperate parents. People easily motivated to do stuff like steal, break things, foment revolution and guillotine rich people.
Public welfare is tumbril insurance.
Nowadays right wingers don’t care for either. They only want the military and corporations to serve their personal needs. Objectives and purpose be damned.
School lunches seem to be a regular, albeit low priority, target for budget cuts but he might have been prompted by Minnesota state senator Steve Drazkowski who voted against providing free school breakfasts and lunches because ““I have yet to meet a person in Minnesota that is hungry.”
And, yes, his remarks really are as stupid as they sound.
That senator, shapiro and most of the GOP (not just GQP subspecies) are such callous, out of touch, puckered assholes.
I’m generally not a fan of judging books by their covers, but just look at him.
Yeah, been there. Had to eat my own bootstraps, in fact.
Where does this man get his cocaine? That shite has got him flying. He reminds me of John Moschitta in those FedEx commercials from the 1980s. Is he doing 1980s Coke? How can one man be so high and so wrong at the same time? Seriously, this is some next level bullshit.
He’s probably just pissed because the Black Panthers did it first. Free school lunches are good for American public schools. We should throw in breakfast as well. That would make me feel good about my tax dollars in action.
@MonkeyT12 Thanks! I did not know that. Time for another trip down the rabbit hole. Was the Black Panther Party responsible for free school breakfast programs? How did WW2 influence public education? Who thought up those cereal boxes that turned into bowls? So many questions, so many questions. Who invented cafeteria trays? How many accidents are cafeteria trays responsible for in the winter? So many questions…
Isn’t that Shapiro’s default state?
But yeah, feeding the kids is both the morally and pragmatically correct choice. The people opposed to it are bad and stupid.
I guess this falls under the “sunlight is the best disinfectant” thing? Is that really supposed to help here, considering he’s not some sort of elected official? It continues to baffle me.
