When characters in Larry Niven’s science fiction would swear, they’d say “There Aint No Justice” or TANJ instead of our customary anglo saxon vulgarities.
In a similar way, I predict that “dessicate” is going to be a spacer’s swear word, to reference what happens to a ship or a hab when all its volatile consumables are vented into space.
