I didn’t watch it because I didn’t like the first movie. The first hour was 100% unneeded backstory. The remaining 2 hours were gorgeous to watch, yes, but all the complex writing of an A-Team episode.
And while I have been to Disney a few times since Avatar land opened, my family and I have never been to it. All of us found the film boring or otherwise, which is one of the few things we all fully agree on. Star Wars land…well we went. It was like a discount Universal Studio’s Harry Potter land, which it was obviously meant to copy.
The movie was produced by 20th Century Studios. Disney was only the distributor.
I watched Way of the Water - but found myself fast forwarding through parts.
Whole movie is basically the first movie plot with an underwater sim built in.

“Ferngully: the last Spaceforest”?
That looks so dull I can’t even get to the end of a video making fun of it.
Avatar: The Way of Water plot summery: They run away from the bad guy for the whole move and then fight him at the end
brilliant.
20th Century Studios was the distributor, and they’re a subsidiary of Disney, so…distinction without a difference.
“What we do in the shallows” for the win. Along with many other bits, really.
But that one.
