Maybe she lied about Cricket, but took KJU out to the gravel pit and shot him?
It’s so hard to keep track!
the Freddy-Kruger perhaps?
I tend to agree with you, but he does have a history of surrounding himself with attractive women of dubious qualification and there were multiple “reports” from campaign “insiders” that she was the front-runner. Of course, it’s grifters and attention-seekers all the way down with that lot, so who knows if it’s true. However, if she was to be the VP nom, I think she’d have been more effective than anyone else currently being touted.
He does love him a lickspittle that the whole world knows he brought to heel, though.
But you’re right; no one can possibly know the machinations of that rat-nest brain of his and it’s all a sort of useless speculation I don’t normally even consider. I do love to see them go down in flames, though…
Not in any position that has any power. There is a HUGE difference between making a woman a press secretary and making them the VP.
Of course Trump didn’t exactly delegate a lot of power to Mike Pence either. Dick Cheney that guy was not.
No, but it’s a position of some power and privilege, so not for women.
Let’s not underestimate just how misogynistic Trump and his ilk are.
Given the sheer number of upended norms, I wouldn’t be surprised if he declined to pick anyone and turned the convention itself into his own political gameshow. If there are multiple prospective candidates, it goes to the delegates for a vote. Any prospective VP candidates have to start winning over groups of state delegations to get nominated on the floor. And you’ve got yourself free primetime TV coverage where everyone is fighting to be Big Orange’s second banana.
Maybe you shouldn’t have conversations about shooting dogs in the face and meeting with authoritarians you haven’t met. Just an idea.
Apparently in the book she made all sorts of claims about meeting various leaders - or arranging meetings with certain European leaders and then canceling, as a flex, I guess? - which are all bullshit. Her attempt to skate around the issue by refusing to talk about the things she talked about are pretty funny, though. Also her “this was brought to my attention” response to claims in the book as if she couldn’t possibly have known the content, even in cases where she apparently argued with the publisher and her staff for their inclusion.
I assumed that was two separate claims, but no, in other interviews she makes it clear she thinks the DMZ is North Korea. (When almost certainly she “visited the DMZ” by standing on the South Korean side of the border with it, and never actually went into it.) In some interviews she also sort of implies that she was part of some secret mission, where she crossed the DMZ and met with Kim - a secret mission she apparently can’t talk about… except she already did in her book. I’m not sure she’s intending to make that implication, though.
I do think they mostly more or less get away with it, because they do it a lot, and for the most part the media response is to ignore it, or some eye rolls. Eventually someone starts calling them on their bullshit and then it snowballs in the press, and they’re taken by surprise. But yeah, none of them are as consistently successful at it as Trump.
I was thinking about that - but how often does he give those people any real positions of power, though? (And if he did in the previous administration, did they end up opposing him, and so he’s learned his lesson about only filling those positions with lickspittles in the future?)
Pictured: Mike Pence, thinking, “Did I turn the gas off?”
"I don’t have conversations about my conversations“
It would require a level of self awareness that seems to elude you.
Your book says you met Lim Jong Un.
I don’t want to confirm that or get into specifics.
Ok… your book says you executed a puppy with a shotgun.
Hell yeah I did! That was me! Can confirm!
That makes a lot of sense.
Probably a perfect choice based on that criteria. My first (and so far only) reaction is “who?”
Interestingly, since this post is about the governor of South Dakota, Burgum is the governor of North Dakota. He also briefly ran for the GOP nomination for President. He dropped out in December because literally everyone’s reaction was the same as yours. And that’s why I think Trump will pick him. There’s zero chance Burgum ever upstages Trump.
The actual risk seems pretty negligible, it’s effectively unused as a charge; but hasn’t the US officially frowned on private diplomacy with hostile 3rd parties since the Logan Act, which is basically forever by American standards(enacted 1799)?
Also, just out of curiosity, does anyone know if, and if so how often/how many, US political figures Kim Jong-Un would have met with at all? We aren’t really on a handshakes-and-photo-ops basis with North Korea, so the face time with dignitaries to back-channel by State Department careerists ratio is presumably on the very low side; along with a near complete absence of the sorts of friendly visits where the state governor isn’t the point of the event but the governor of the state where the event is taking place will naturally show up to see and be seen with arriving foreign delegations.
Not to mention she’s gotta drop that she’s a Real Woman who is good with children, with a dash of aw-shucks I’m going to treat the despotic leader of another nation like a spoiled child that’s just what he needs.
This woman is not having a good week. She skipped “Gutfeld” allegedly because of bad weather in SD… but she was in NYC and it was 50 in Pierre. He savaged her.
I do have a few questions about the puppy killing. What did you she do with the body? Bury in gravel, or just leave it lying there? A construction crew watched her do this, nobody called the cops? “911? Some woman just shot a dog here.” When she then shot the goat, was the same crew still there? Did they try to interfere, telling her this isn’t an animal disposal pit? Did she leave the goat there as well, figuring someone would clean up after her?
