I saw a cop wearing a Blue Lives Matter wristband. Should I be offended?

Plenty of good MLK and other quotes relating to this topic…

Not Boston. And some cops are making $100k just from the moonlighting to add to their $100k salaries. The cynical may doubt they’re actually showing up for over a 1000 hrs of off duty OT on top of their departmental OT.

King was such an amazing author. The letter from the Birmingham jail is a brilliant response to the call for unity, and it still resonates today.

“Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will.”

I have to keep telling myself that these frustrating people should not be directly attacked, though; it always backfires and harms my cause. I will need their help to defeat the malevolent people. Attacking their beliefs and actions works better!

And on that note, I’m outta here.

Funny, when I picture a world without moderates, it doesn’t look like Liberal Nirvana, it looks a lot like the middle east, with entire nations reduced to rubble and people to refugees or mass graves. No thanks. We need to count our blessings for the moderates on the other side.

That’s a much more uplifting and actionable outlook than ‘Positive social change is always possible because the people holding it back are dying every day.’

Based on your encounter… no. But you should be prepared to be offended; cops.

Here’s one more indication that the “Blue Lives Matter” movement is nothing more than a cynical pushback against “Black Lives Matter:”

Police officers were among the dozens of victims murdered by Vegas Shooter Steven Paddock and the “Blue Lives Matter” crew has said NOTHING.
