Icelandic girl denied passport because name is English

At this point in time in human history, the concept of a passport is an anachronism - in my humble opinion.

So you are trying to argue that nation-states no longer exist and that it really serves no function in modern society, hence it is an anachronism (like military officers carrying swords or children in school being issued slide-rules)? If so, I hate to break it to you, but nation-states still exist.

I hate to break it to you, that even if it still exists, itā€™s an anachronism.

And then thereā€™s those of us who donā€™t actually have a surname to begin withā€¦

Since when have facts ever gotten in the way of a internet outrage?

If you can survive basic Icelandic, any other grammar is a breeze - possibly excluding Finnish - Iā€™m still trying to work out why they need quite so many words for ā€˜dogā€™.
