Can one load tampons into a nerf gun? Could make some interesting protests. Probably to dangerous for the protesters though.
I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve heard/read both Indiana politicians and MAGAt voters cheer the fact that a number of people moving from Chicago (there’s a certain baseline of moving due to work, education, etc., so it’s not actually higher than what would be expected) are moving to Indiana. They think moving to Indiana will make them turn into MAGAts. Instead, as you say, many areas are becoming much more purple. One of the biggest demographics moving from Chicago? Black families. They’re not going to vote the way these Hoosiers want.
" I mean, nobody complains about the free soap and toilet paper in the restooms…"

What will the school do if girls quit wearing tampons or pads in schools and just bleed out every month? Send them all home? (Asking for a friend /s)
That is literally what happens in all the places where girls do not have access to menstrual care products. It’s a feature not a bug.
I sometimes resorted to thick, white cotton socks. I’m certain I am not alone in improvising.
You are not, but the reality is that this does keep girls home from school in many places around the world.
Yep, I’m pretty sure that the right-wing “christians” think we should use pads only (or y’know, a bunch of rags we have to wash out).
My topic now: pads vs tampons (OT if you think so).
I will never forget my experience at age 14 at the Smithsonian in DC. Family spent 3+ days in the various museums (we were camping in NJ to save money, so I couldn’t go “home” until end of day). I was filling up a pad every 2 hours, and I put so fucking many dimes into broken dispensers in public womens’ restrooms. In fact, I did end up with wads of TP. A very vivid memory, although I can’t recall a single museum exhibit I saw.
As soon as I got home, I learned to insert a tampon. My mom (born in the '30s) always tried to be enlightened, but the idea of helping me squicked her out (at least she paid for the tampons). So I lay in the bathtub (to get into a leg-raised position) and finally succeeded after about 3 hours of trying (applicators were cardboard tubes). 1970.
True.
Does anyone know if Nepal still has menstrual huts, or have they finally evolved past that garbage?
D’ye spose male Buddhists tell women that misogyny and violence against us are just two of the countless illusions of maya?
Fist bump from a fellow cardboard-tube user!
So some people get tortured and killed in the meantime. Big deal. /s
But it would take a lot more than the small population of Eastern Oregon to flip Idaho.
And if we’re balancing the Senate, a better way would be to merge Idaho and Wyoming as well as Montana with the Dakotas.
So, so true.
That and, as is the case with friends of mine who teach 5th grade and up, the teachers buy tampons and pads with their own meager salaries. And usually it’s the women teachers. Not always, but usually. So, another hidden tax on women in the profession.
