I think I’ve seen to many pre-code era cartoons and movies. There’s some weird racist junk in that period of film…

The hilarious and bizarre It Came From Hollywood included a surprisingly long segment of blackface performers (including children!) from a film about “black Heaven”. Gilda Radner summed it up perfectly with, “Can you believe it? This also came from Hollywood.”

Except that for anyone familiar with history it sadly wasn’t that hard to believe it came from Hollywood.
