While waiting for some software stuff to finish I idly noodled through a storage room of ancient stuff. Was fun to see some 5.25in floppy disks again out of nowhere (and funny that they hadn’t also archived anything to read them with…)

For some reason one of the pedestrian signals in the Children’s Traffic Town in Helsinki has a German Ampelmännchen on it.
Rest seem to have older Finnish style pedestrian signals.

I saw this cluster of balloons trapped in a tree in the park earlier in the summer, looking for all the world like a freshly removed heart tangled in some bramble.
I thought of it again because I just read the graphic novel of Neil Gaiman’s “Snow, Glass, Apples” illustrated by Colleen Doran that @1000YearBan and @ikeOnABike recently recommended (and from my search results, a few other bbers over the years!) I ate up that Art Nouveau style like a poison apple. The style is reminiscent of Kay Nielsen’s stuff (who, coincidentally, did Sleeping Beauty concept work for Disney…)The layouts and panel compositions though are pretty mindbending.

I tried that a few nights ago, and I figured the new phone probably enhances some photos - but the progeny says the phone detects that I’m taking a picture of the moon (& perhaps only when it’s the moon), and replaces/combines my photo with an existing, better photo:
