Seen on this evening’s walk across and along the river:
↓ Nobody home but the wind and the rain.
↓ Something new…what do you suppose it will be??
It’s just sitting in the middle of a long, narrow strip of grass and trees, where the walking path and bicycle path diverge. It’s positioned at a weird angle to the river and the road. I thought at first that someone had put in a rogue raised gardening bed, but on closer inspection it’s obviously a public-works project.
I’m thinking it could be for a concrete base for a sculpture. Also, because it’s rectangular I thought maybe a base for a bench—but in that case I think they’d have some pavement leading up to it. Any other ideas? I suppose we’ll find out soonish, maybe in a couple of weeks?…

We’ve been starting work before 6am to beat the heat.
About noon today we’re very hot and tired when this floats by.
